2026 Smart City Asia to be held for the first time in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 8
Smart City Asia International Forum and Exhibition in Vietnam: Advancing the National Innovation Ecosystem and Digital Transformation

The 2026 Smart City Asia International Forum and Exhibition in Vietnam (Smart City Asia) will take place from 8 to 10 October 2026 at the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC), Tu Lien Bridge - Truong Sa Road, Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi. This will be the second Smart City Asia event held this year, following the first edition in Ho Chi Minh City from 6 to 8 May 2026.
Smart City Asia is a well-established annual event of regional significance and international scope in the fields of digital transformation and smart cities. The event brings together government authorities, international organizations, businesses, experts, research institutes, and universities from Vietnam and abroad.

Leading technology companies including Dell Technologies and Seagate Technology will participate in the event, presenting solutions and platforms that directly support the development of digital infrastructure, data utilization, and smart cities.
Dell Technologies will showcase AI-ready infrastructure, cloud, and data solutions designed to support smarter governance, safer cities, enhanced urban mobility, and sustainability, thereby contributing to Vietnam's ambitions for smart urban development and a digital economy.

Smart City Asia 2026 will bring together a diverse range of domestic and international technology companies, showcasing products, solutions, and platforms that support smart city development, digital transformation, and enhanced technology experiences throughout the event.
In 2026, the event will continue to be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Science and Technology and organized by the Institute for Innovation and Digital Transformation in coordination with the National Digital Transformation Authority. The event supports the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, while providing a strategic forum for discussion of emerging technology trends in smart cities, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.
The event aims to strengthen international cooperation, attract investment, develop the science and technology market, advance digital transformation, and address the challenges facing modern cities through digital technology platforms, thereby contributing to stronger national competitiveness in the digital era.
The event is expected to welcome leaders of the Government, ministries, sectors, and local authorities; international organizations; business associations; technology corporations; domestic and international enterprises; investment funds; experts; and a broad range of press and media organizations.
As part of Smart City Asia 2026 in Hanoi, a series of in-depth forums will address key issues shaping the future of smart cities.
The programme will open with the International Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Digital Transformation, focusing on strategies for the development and application of artificial intelligence in Vietnam. The forum will present AI application models for public administration, digital government development, virtual assistants for public officials, policy planning support, administrative reform, and the development of the AI industry. Vietnamese and international experts will also discuss the role of Vietnamese technology companies in the global AI transformation, as well as the application of AI in cultural governance, tourism, and heritage conservation. A dedicated panel discussion will explore Vietnam's potential to rank among ASEAN's leading countries in AI, identify the country's competitive advantages and gaps relative to regional peers, and consider priority policies for the next phase of development.
Smart City Asia 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City attracted thousands of visitors and featured more than 500 booths from leading domestic and international technology companies across smart education, smart lighting, and smart city solutions.
The Vietnam Digital Leadership Forum in the Context of Globalization, themed "Connecting Vietnamese Intellect - Leading Innovation - Shaping Vietnam's Digital Future," will provide a platform connecting Vietnamese business communities in Vietnam and overseas with policymakers, investors, and technology companies. Discussions will focus on Go Global strategies for Vietnamese enterprises amid a rapidly evolving global technology landscape; AI and green transformation; attracting high-quality talent; digital finance, fintech, and digital assets. The forum will also devote significant attention to a panel discussion on the role of entrepreneurs in Vietnam's goal of becoming a developed country by 2045, the impact of AI on corporate governance models, successful AI implementation experiences, AI agents, and the emergence of borderless enterprises.

As part of Smart City Asia, a programme for National Digital Transformation Day is expected to be held in celebration of National Digital Transformation Day on 10 October. The High-Level Forum on National Digital Transformation will review Vietnam's progress in developing digital government, the digital economy, and digital society; assess the country's position and opportunities in the context of global digital transformation; and discuss the development of digital human resources, digital citizens, and competitive national digital capabilities for the new era. Alongside the High-Level Forum on National Digital Transformation, the Commemoration Ceremony of National Digital Transformation will be a major highlight, bringing together notable technologies, achievements, and exemplary digital transformation stories. In particular, the programme will recognize outstanding government agencies, localities, enterprises, organizations, and individuals for their contributions to the digital transformation journey.

Another major highlight of Smart City Asia will be its large-scale exhibition, expected to feature more than 350 booths, participation from over 10 countries, and more than 350 companies and organizations showcasing advanced solutions, products, and technologies in smart urban infrastructure, AI, Big Data, semiconductors, 5G and IoT, cloud computing, blockchain, the metaverse, robotics, automation, smart energy, smart power infrastructure, fintech, and platforms supporting digital transformation.
At Smart City Asia, businesses will have opportunities to strengthen brand visibility, showcase products, engage with strategic partners, expand into new markets, and connect with domestic and international investors. A series of accompanying activities, including forums, business matching programmes, and technology demonstration zones, will enable companies to exchange experience, stay abreast of technology trends, and explore new opportunities for cooperation.
