Please be aware that any violation is subject to criminal punishment pursuant to Article 50-2 and Article 74 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

Article 50-2 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (Prohibition on Unauthorized Collection of Email Addresses, etc.)

• 1. No one shall collect email addresses from an Internet website that clearly indicates its intent to refuse the collection of email addresses by using programs that automatically collect email addresses or other technical devices.
• 2. No one shall sell or distribute email addresses collected in violation of paragraph 1.
• 3. No one shall knowingly use email addresses whose collection, sale, or distribution is prohibited under paragraphs 1 and 2 for the purpose of transmitting information.

Article 74 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (Penalties)

Any person who collects, sells, distributes, or uses email addresses for the transmission of information in violation of Article 50-2 shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than one (1) year or by a fine not exceeding ten million (10,000,000) Korean won.
